This shirt design was created for the interactive documentary project Hollow. It was inspired by the words of Marsha Timpson of McDowell County, West Virginia. Regarding life in Appalachia and the importance of home, Marsha said, “Somehow these roots got embedded in our souls.” The goal of the design was to express the deeply rooted pride and culture of West Virginia—more specifically, the southernmost county, McDowell County.
Over 125 shirts were sold and all proceeds went directly back into the maintenance of Hollow.
